Clemko Ship Management S.A. placed an order on March 2010 for two bulk carriers of 82,000 dwt from South Korean yard Hyundai. They would be delivered in October 2011 and February 2012. The order included two options for repeat vessels which was finally exercised by the Clemko founder Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, with delivery slated for June and September 2012. These orders represented Clemko’s debut in the newbuilding market.
